Bruneian Ambuyat

This dish is actually native to Brunei. Ambuyat is made from pouring hot water into sago, and believe it or not, sago is derived from a tree trunk.

Ambuyat is basically tasteless, but worth eating for the experience itself. There are several dipping sauces that you can choose from (spicy or sweet), which actually gives it some flavor, and it's always eaten with vegetables and dishes of fish, meat or prawn depending on your preferences.
